Party onboard Trouters last night. There were seven
boats in the anchorage and everybody was stuck waiting for weather, so I decided
to throw a 'Pot Luck' affair, i.e. bring your own drinks and snacks. It went
very well and was almost a 'United Nations' Affair. Brits (us) Canadians,
Americans, Italians, a Serbian couple and I think a Spaniard (too much good
Panamanian beer, can't quite remember!). Anyway, a good time was had by all and
despite it blowing a real hooley everybody managed to get into their dingies and
get home safely.All I need to do now is perfect my pizza-baking skills and I can
'open for business'-parties-R-Us!!
Still blowing like hell this morning (0720 local).
The Italians have just left but I think they'll probably be the only ones. The
wind is out of the NW at up to 20kts (sometimes a bit more) and the sea is up to
about 2 metres as far as we can tell, so personally I don't feel like bashing
into it for about 5 hours to the next port of call. It may blow like this today
and possibly tomorrow then apparently it'll calm down a bit. At that point I
think we'll put in a couple of 20 mile days and we'll be back 'on schedule' -
not that there is much of a schedule!
