Finally finally finally lifted out. Another 35 tonne crane, but this one
didn't have the over-load cutout connected! Some terrible creaks and groans
whilst it was going on and Trouters made a bit of noise as well!
Can't find my camera yet, but a few photos were taken so hopefully some
piccies soon.
I took the hose inside for an initial two hour sluice; amazing how much
better things look without a coating of mud and sand. Still a real mess,
but I'm sure she can be brought back to life again.
Damage looks awful, but should be repairable. The plan is to have the
engines tended to tomorrow then an assessment will be made.
Electronis/batteries/fridge are most likely deceased but the rigging looks
OK. She'll have to dry out for a couple of weeks before any GRP work can
be done, so during that time the big clean up will start. Local labour is
£1.20p per hour, so once I've got the worst of the mess cleared up I may
hire somebody to try and recover some of the woodwork, depending on what
the final bill for the salvage is of course. This crane cost about £70 per
hour and I'm being billed for 4.5 hours, don't know what the other will
cost but I will mention that another 35 tonner succeeded where they
didn't.
Ayt themoment I'm envisaging a more basic boat, i.e. stand alone chart
plotter rather than a fully integrated system, but we'l see.
