I thought this might either interest or depress anybody reading this:
1 litre wine in a box(like a milk carton) between 0.6 & 0.92C
5 litre wine in a plastic barrel                          E4.55
Galician melon                                              E1.15
pack of local tomatoes                                   E1.35
sliced bread                                                     0.55c
pimientos (small, green peppers for tapas)          0.99c
can of San Miguel (33cl)                                    0.47c
cucumber                                                         0.41c
If it's any consolation, the bread is not as tasty as UK bread & definitely not a patch on French bread. The veg is not as 'nicely' presented or sorted for size & shape as you would find in a UK supermarket, which probably says something about the Brits! The wine is emminently drinkeable. I keep trying to find a bad one, but no luck so far.....I'll just have to keep looking.
I'm planning on moving down the Ria in the next day (or so). The ship is fully provisioned, I'll take on water just before I leave and have a meal prepared so I don't have to cook 'on the go'. I've worked out the tides, entered the waypoints in the chart plotter and have a 'bolt-hole in mind in case the weather cuts up rough en route. It will be an epic voyage of approximately 3.5nm, the stuff of a Norse Saga! Wow, will I be able to cope?
