I had a program of work in mind for today, but in the event I removed the knackered extra gas bottle holder (been meaning to for the last year or so) and when I went inside Kuta (originally from the Solomon Isles) was trying to 'de rust' some cabinet hinges on what was the vegetable store. looking at it, I suddenly thought that this would be a good place to put the fridge so.....we removed the entire cabinet, removed the shelf from the footlocker below and the plan is to make a really well insulated GRP box and drop it into the resulting 'ole. My projects after next week will include making a new GRP gas bottle holder as a sort of teach yourself GRP work' exercise and when (if) I get the hang of it making the fridge body.
I have to say that the starboard hull is almost habitable now....oh yes, I cleaned out the gas locker before removing said knackered bottle holder, so that was one planned job done. The rudder shaft keyways and the Kiwi prop assembly continue to resist my efforts to remove them.
Many years ago a group of us hired a Moorings 4500 in the BVI's; the boat was called 'Cat Sass'. Well, this is the offending cat sass of Fiji
To be fair to the bloody thing it is quite cute
despite its digestive problems.
Not much else to say at the moment. Still no news on a publication date, but I suppose no news is good news although Emma the Agent i supposed to email me a copy of the fully signed contract.
Oh well, I'm sort of trapped in my room at the moment as the living room has been transformed into a temple and is full of mourners with another branch of the family due to arrive tonight. Luckily I cunningly stopped off at the supermarket (Kundan Singh for those who may be following my daily walk on Google Earth....how sad! lol)) and brought a bottle of halfway-decent red (around £4 )and peanuts for supper. No expense spared (well...not entirely true, todays food/drink extravaganza will total £11, usually I get by on about £4.80. I'll probably have half a bottle of wine left over, don't drink as much as wot I used to, y'know!
