At anchor 1730UTC, 01/01/10 Isla de
Tigre
After a peaceful night at Mono Island and removing
the gennaker to check for damage [small hole, but two sections of the furling
foil had come adrift-what a bloody awful design!] we actually managed to SAIL
the 25nm to Isla de Tigre. As Dick on Moonshiner said in a recent email.....not
sure if cats are allowed on Mono island but they should feel at home in Isla de
Tigre.
Anyway, pit stop here, a quick shop ashore for
fresh 'stuff' then off tomorrow to East Hollandaise Cays. The snorkelling is
supposed to be very good there and certainly the water is clearer
here.
Met a boat in the anchorage here, Aqualuna. They
were just 'de-anchoring' to make their way slowly to Shelter Bay, Colon. They're
supposed to be transiting the Canal on 12th Feb (with the Blue Water
Rally).
