Wow, exciting news. Today I become  a 'dot com'. Hope I don't burst

Daughter Pauline has dragged her old dad into the 21st century and created a 'platform' for me. I thought she was creating a new improved blog site, but what do I know?
Anyway, this blog will continue in all it's gory details but the roastbeef site will no longer be updated. Instead, you can find all the old posts and the new ones at

Gosh, I am proud.

On the boat front, rain stopped play today and that's likely to be the case for the next couple of days, HOWEVER.....

I had yet another text message from Martin the Meknik asking yet again for part payment. This after our full and frank conversation yesterday. I sent him a reply saying engine on the boat=part payment. Boat launched and everything OK=full payment.
He texted back....OK

I went down to the boat fully prepared to ring the police to get them to attend whilst I recovered my property if there was any more B/S, but I saw him and not a word was said.
It was genuinely raining to hard to deliver the engine and safely manhandle it onto the boat, but I feel that this is not the end of the saga.

A little bird whispered in my ear that he is concerned if he isn't paid before the boat is in the water I will simply sail away without paying. There isn't any risk of that of course and if he'd delivered the engines in good time I would have paid him in full when they were both installed. As it is I simply whispered back to the little bird that I was concerned that if I paid him in full before the boat was in the water and something needed doing that he would not make the adjustments without demanding further payment.
We shall see what transpires, but honestly, what a way to do business. And still no word as to why the engines are two months late, it really is pathetic and I'm not the only one saying so.
