I broke the Fifty Minute barrier and lived!

Well, I think I lived. Just to clarify, when people refer to 'resting
pulse/heart rate' they mean the heart is actually taking a break, yes?
Ah....well if I have not quite understood it then it's possible that I
didn't survive and in fact my heart has stopped, which in turn must mean
that I'm writing this incorporally (spelling?)/you know, not in a physical
body, incorpy-thingy, inky pinkyially....oh, you know what I mean!
Anyway, on the boat front one engine is now running OK, the compression is
good and all is well. One gearbox is OK, but the other may need new
bearings.
I have a project in hand to fit a visual sight gauge to the water tank,
just a simple clear plastic tube. Naturally, to do the job properly a
plate has to be welded to the bottom of the tank (not actually on the
bottom, about one inch up) and a stainless fitting then screwed into the
tank. I'm going to take the opportunity to use this as the water-delivery
system as well and move the electric pump mounting a little higher up so I
can remove the pressure regulator on the base without having to remove the
entire pump. Oh yes, there'll also be an on/off valve just downstream of
the new fitting so when I clean the pre-pump filter I don't lose litres of
water! All things Broadblue might have done.
I'm getting the first quote for the GRP repairs on Monday (that'll be
Monday, Fijian time I suspect). I've started a 'project book' (thank you,
Carando. Hope you had a good trip home) and at the bottom of the list is a
new custom-built fridge with simply loads of insulation. It shouldn't be
that expensive if the fridge compressor has survived, but there are other
more important things to spend money on (like things I already owe for).
This coming week I intend to strip the outboard.
All in all, not a bad week. I'm now walking to/from the RSYC, so about
50kms per week which must be doing me some good.
