That's the good news. Bad news, the throttle cable is playing up again. For those who know, the cable is attached to the throttle via a plastic crimping device. Well it should be, but the crimping doesn't hold. A replacement has been located, usually they come with the cable! It inconveniently went again as I was in the middle of a crowded anchorage.
The anchor windlass has also packed up. Elektickery is getting to the motor but the motor 'ne marche pas'. Springs are the usual suspects here, also being tracked down as we speak but I am going to get the motor checked. Great fun this morning hauling up the anchor by hand due to a wind shift. hey ho, the trials and tribulations of cruising. Naturally, the windlass failed just after the throttle cable went again.
Information required.
I'm going to have to haul out in the not too distant future. Anybody know of a reasonably priced yard either in Bundaberg or Brisbane where you can haul out, work on the boat yourself and live aboard? At the moment it looks like I can't live aboard in any of the Bundaberg yards I do know of one in Whangerei (NZ) but I really don't want to make the trip back down south. One stormy passage has been enough, thank you very much!
On the writing front, the second 'Tim' illustrated children's book, Tim Turpin, is nearing completion. Obviously the diet and lack of cash is keeping me on the boat and hard at it.
Sales of books have been quite slow the last month and yes, that is a shameless hint! I hope to start work on another self-published tome in the next week, just waiting for inspiration to strike.
