Calm seas, and calm winds dammit so motoring at around 5kts. Weather is great, clear skies etc etc so at the moment I'm in 'tropical sailing kit no 1'. i.e. red shorts and nought else!
Just prepared the next 'three day stew', chick beef, potatoes witha tomato and mint sauce. To W3's delight there are NO BEANS in this particular culinary delight, but I'll make up for it with the next one! Still looking reasonable for a Monday arrival in Opua, so we have to eat; this stew, 1.5kgs of mince, another chuck steak which will be Sunday Roast (weather allowing), a goodly collection of potatoes, some onions, three cans of corned beef plus several more packs of (wait for it :) BEANS. We probably won't finish this lot which is a shame because the quarantine peeps take fresh stuff off you and eat it themselves (ooh, no they don't, they destroy it...of course they do :)
Fotr Seamist, please create a new email when replyng to this otherwise your reply will be posted on my blog. Hope you and Kilkea met up OK. Basically the first 24 hours werte a little rough but after that things settled down. Maybe we weren't used to bashing to windward? Anyway, all is well and looking forward to meeting up again in Opua.
