Noon run  93nm
Not a spectacular noon run, mainly due to no wind and dodging thunder storms. Last night was a 'doozy', lightning strikes in the water about half a mile either side of us for about 30 mins. Sheet lightning all round for all of the night, torrential rain (we now have clean decks) but no wind so motoring on the rhumb line towards the Galapagos, about 495nm to go. Might be able to sail in 36 hours once we get a bit further south and hopefully out of the ITCZ weather system.
Delicado temporarily lost their GPS due to a 'near miss', but have reserrected the spare one and coupled it up to their mapping system. My estimate of their position based on their distance and bearing from the Galapagos was surprisingly accurate I was told! As I typed this I saw a pod of dolphins jumping, which reminded me of the 'old salt's saying' .....when the sea pig jumps the weather will be bad. Ho hum.
Apart from that all well on board, apart from Freya feeling neglected by her parents....send her an email and cheer her up chaps :)
