the anchor up and motored around AND managed to get a little more
speed!
Right now I'm motoring out about 5nm, en route to East Flores. I'm
heading basically North and of course there is a light northerly wind
so if it all turns to worms I can get back. Calypso is leaving in an
hour for the same destination. I'm making 2,3kts SOG they will
probably zoom along at 5kts! with 120nm to go this may take a couple
of days as the winds are supposed to be ESE-S 5-10kts. Maybe I will be
able to sail but it's going to be slow.
If you don't hear from me in the next say six hours I'm en route to a
place called Larantuku. Of course, the engine overheated for a bit
motoring out but following the usual pattern after 15 mins at forward
idle the temp came right down. It has to be an airlock. Something else
to investigate but so far if the transmission problem isn't fully
fixed it's certainly 100% better than it was! Difficult to believe
that an oil change did it but boy was that ATF fluid grey and gunky.
No water in suspensiopn or suspect looking anything in the liquid
though.
