A very pleasant day. Anchor up at 0555 with no problem or too much huffing and puffing. The engine was started at 0550 with the aid of the emergency elektrikery. That started third pull so (fingers crossed) switching off the fuel to shut it down appears to have cured the reliability problem.

No wind to speak of so I motored away from the anchorage. I pushed the lever forward and we went faster. Pushed it a bit more and faster again. WOW, this is fun. I motor-sailed for six hours until I was certain I could make the anchorage in in daylight if anything untoward mechanically happened then sailed for a couple of hours. Finally motored in the last half hour or so as there were some 'reefy-bits' about.

This looks like a real sleepy hollow of a place but nevertheless there are nineteen boats here so I bet some enterprising person has a supply of 'Bintang dingin' (cold beer). My old chums Hyeyoung and Helmut on Mohea are here, although ashore at the moment. Calypso anchored for the night about five miles away and as I sailed passed they upped anchor and we arrived at pretty much the same time.

So all in all a very pleasant and quite rapid sail/motor, for once. The only cloud on the horizon is the alternator which yet again went into a sulk. I can always tell when that happens (after an hour or so). Not because the alternator light comes on, it doesn't. Nope, the engine temperature stops reading!
