Airlie Beach

My mate Denis said to park by the VMR (volunteer marine reserve) ramp. It's a bit shallow he said. He was right. Still never mind, the falling tide pulled me off the putty so the holding can't be that good eh? Interestingly my faithful depth gauge was reading 35 metres when we touched. I knew I could depend on it. It's never right....that's dependable, isn't it?

A decent sail round and a motor for a mile when the wind finally died. Today it's ranged from about 20kts to 0kts. I was even getting a bit seasick in Shute Bay and when the bloke who's buoy I was on returned that made up my mind to move. He did graciously offer to allow me to stay until tomorrow, mainly because at the time it was blowing 20kts but I thought it was time to move.

I'm only a short row from both the VMR ramp and the marina. I might, might mind you, attempt to get the outboard going again in honour of Pam and Jim Delicado's visit on Tuesday. Ex Delicado I should say, they've 'swallowed the anchor'. For the time being I suspect.
