Well, now enroute for Spain. Left Cameret about
1015 UK time. Had a bit of a bumpy first 30 mi;les heading WSW to clear the
offshore reefs around the Rade de Brest, then turned SSW when it got a bit more
comfortable.
ERxperimented with various sails but settled on
full gennaker (the big one on the bowsprit), about 17-20 kts of wind from the
starboard quarter (from behind me right ear). Deployed the Aquair which seems to
be producing slightly more electricity than I'm using and had a cup of tea.
Looking out to the west the clouds almost looked like the trade wind clouds and
I actually laughed out loud with pleasure at the thought. This after only a few
hours at sea on my own.! By the time I reach Spain I'll have a pencil up each
nostril & be muttering 'wibble'!
Just had supper, beef, potatoes, onions and
camambert in the pressure cooker. Now for a catnap. Every fith hour I'll try to
catnap for ten minutes at a time and see how `i go, only seen about three ships
so far....but they're out there!
