At last a little momentum!

Arun the Elektrik finally showed up. Battery wires were produced, measured in situ, marked and taken away to be prepared. The wind generator has been disassembled, the prognosis is excellent (possibly F$40 worth of spares required). Unfortunately the chances of a working fridge have now dropped to 50/50. Suitable bolts for the anchor windlass have been sourced, should (ha!) be fitted later on today. Arun is prepared to work on the boat when she's in the water, checking new engine gauges/depth gauge etc.

I think I've finally got it into Martin the Meknik's head that the boat is going into the water in less than two weeks. He apparently has one job to finish up (right). he was in the club bar drinking all day Monday (was that the job?), but missing on Tuesday. Despite promising to deliver the stainless plate for the davit, it has not yet appeared. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt today, but will be texting him to see wtf is going on. Another mechanic has been lined up to rebuild the engines if necessary, Martin has at most 36 hours to actually start working on them. For this reason I haven't booked a crane yet.

Butto (Manuel Labour) is 'missing in action', haven't seen him since last Thursday. Saving me some money (I owe him a days wages, so maybe he's sick), but it does mean that I'm doing all the fiddly little jobs that are best done with the boat ashore myself. Not a problem but it is time consuming.  Last couple of days I've been sanding/painting anything that might conceivably be screwed together inside the boat, some pictures tomorrow perhaps.I will be going up the mast in the next couple of days to run the 'new' halyard and try and mount the VHF arial. The actual mast repairs I'll try and progress, but they can be done once the boat is in the water if necessary so are a bit low on the priority list right now. At the very least, whilst I'm up the mast I hope to get the bent strut off to have it straightened. Why hadn't I done the rigging before? Finances my dears, finances. The same for most of the other small jobs and of course some were best left until the last minute anyway.

John the GRP was done some more internal work, about 50% finished, but he's reliable and doing it as and when. He's well aware of the 'launch window' and has a plan!

So there you go, not exactly sprinting to the finishing line, but things are visibly moving. Well, the bank balance is certaily moving anyway.
