Puerto de Naos, Arricife.
On weds night virtually all the boats in Graciosa
marina were told they had to move on by Friday (unless they had indicated they
wanted a long-term stay). The guy who 'informed' us didn't speak much english
but was rude to a German lady who could speak Spanish, wouldn't or
couldn't explain why, only saying the harbour master had left
instructions!!
Anyway, very friendly!!!! Friday dawned dull, misty
& drizzling but about four boats left in slow time, and Troutbridge
arrived in Arricife about 3pm after motoring the entire way! Puerto de Naos is
as grotty as I remember it, but at the moment nobody has asked me for any money.
It took SIX attempts to find a spot where the anchor held and even now I'm
not too certain of it. I had a quote of 30 euros per day to go into Puerto
Calero, a very swanky marina, so a couple of days before returning to the Uk
that's where I'll go.
The plan at the moment is a hire car on monday for
a couple of days to go sightseeing, arrange the flights etc, maybe a couple of
days anchored off Papagayo on the southern end of the island then into the
marina. Weather is hot and sticky in Puerto de Naos but elsewhere there is a
reasonable breeze.
Ah, the trials and tribulations of this cruising
life.
