Still in Kupang! I had planned to leave yesterday but Calypso's outboard started making terminal noises so as Paul's (or rather his dingy's)  rowlocks have broken I ferried him and the sick outboard ashore. After that the wind came up so I stayed put.

The wind swirches on here about 0800 and blows until around 1800 but it seems to be a local effect. Boats that have left report it seems to die down offshore. No doubt I'll find out in a day or so.

Most of the rally fleet have moved on and those of us left behind are planning on missing-out the next couple of rally stops and heading direct for a place called Alor, about 140nm away. The festivities don't start there until the 13th of Aug so there's not exactly a mad rush. In the meantime it's pleasant to sit in a less-crowded anchorage, enjoy the Sun and watch the assortment of local boats noisily putter past.
