I've decided to bite the bullet, enough is enough.

Martin is still insistent that both engines will work and is picking up the 'repaired parts' tomorrow for fitting by Wednesday.

Arun the Elektrik had his fortune read today, not by me as I want to keep him 'on-side' as long as possible but he is trying to mess around now. Or was, he's smarter than the other one and I don't think the message was lost on him. The guy who bollicked him gives him work on his boat(s).

John the GRP has finished the blue stripes and very smart they look too. He will be at the boat an hour a day all this coming week,  just finishing off small, small jobs. None of which would have prevented a launch, I must say.

Local Fiji time and date.Monday 9th July (THREE months, a QUARTER OF A YEAR!!! behind schedule)
HW is at 1058.

It could change if neither engine works, but if we get one started and it runs for a couple of minutes without seizing I'm going in. At least I will have options when I'm in the water. Cranes in the plural. The same company that lifted me out (and damaged the mast). They could have done it with a 40 Tonne crane, but say it is safer with two sharing the load, a 30 tonne and a 25 tonne. The cost difference was £200. At this stage of the game I'm not about to risk Trouters for £200. Ta for the help (anticipating a yes to my acceptance of an offer of help), you know who you are. I really hate being a scrounging sod, I don't know how people can go through life doing it, and I've known a couple over the years.

Henning is preparing a contract to examine the engines and has commented that he is sure he can find a source of second-hand 'proper' parts. He is really totally unimpressed with Martin and expressed his feelings in no uncertain terms. All/any work can be done at anchor and he will be returning to Suva in about a week, so the timing is right.
I did just remind him that I would need the price before I signed.

I've been laid up all weekend with a blinding headache and choking fits. Funnily enough it seems better now.
