Still in Rodney Bay, at anchor near Pigeon Island.
The holding is good and we are about 100 metres off the beach. Mainly a sandy
bottom, with a few rocks & fish to look at, so snorkelling is OK. Nearby is
the Jambe de Bois beach restaurant
As you can see, it's an awful place :) They serve
potent rum punches in the evening, as well as reasonable food (Lamb Roti for
EC$15 -about £4.00). Roti for those who don't know is a malay word for bread and
here is meat or veg wrapped-up in a thin pancake-type casing. The days have been
spent in swimming, reading and just generally doing nothing!!!
The French islands have all been on strike this
last week, so the anchorage has been fairly crowded, even French boats coming
down to get away from the strike! Anyway, the plan is to go into the marina this
coming week, hopefully get all the jobs done by next weekend, see some more of
St Lucia, then head north to Martinique. After that, who knows? Maybe up to the
Saintes/Guadeloupe then back down to Bequia & The Grenadines.
Tiger Frightener (Larry & Fi) are heading up to
Antigua to pick up guests, so we may see them further north. Apparently they are
planning on hauling out in St Lucia rather than Trinidad this year, but I have
been 'volunteered' as crew for the races in Bequia over
Easter.
