So, what's happened sonce I last posted? Well, Larry & I donned scuba gear (in Rodney Bay) and spend some time chipping barnacles off the underside of the boat. Boy, what a mess. Larry also greased the KIWI props (now then, no jokes about 'greasing up the cat'). We left the following day (last wed, I think) and went down to Marigot Bay. The boat went A LOT faster without all the crustacians, but of course there was hassle from one 'boat boy' when we arrived in marigot. Never mind, eh? O yes, the ROCNA anchor agaion lived up to it's name and found the largest rock in Marigot bay to trap itself underneath. Diver and 'Mad Mary' note I was able to free-dive and lift the thing out of the 'cave' it had secured itself in.
After sampling the permanent 'happy hour' in Chateau Maygo (confusing..... we want three rum punches, OK, that's six because it's happy hour er....OK, if we order three we get six...Ah, you want six, so that'll mean you get twelve....er....etc etc!!) we all were up at 0530 yesterday morning for the departure to Bequia. The trip started in a drizzle and no wind. We motored until abeam the Pitons. Then we sailed for a bit, then motor-sailed for a lot and finally, just north of St Vincent picked-up a superb wind and had just about the best sail so far in the Caribbean. A nice beam wind and boat speed consistently 8+ kts ~ luvverley!!!!!!
Finally arrived in Bequia about 1700, anchored fairly close to Tiger Frightener and went over for a fish supper (but you should have seen the one that got away ~ yeah yeah).
