Making good progress but boy is it uncomfortable! I did think about putting into Two Island Bay on the North Wessel Island to have a break. Unfortunately because of the wave pattern I simply wasn’t able to lay the course and had to bear away. I had planned to arrive 4.5nm north of the Island but in the event I was 9nm off. Too far to power/beat/curse directly into wind and waves and to go past then tack back seemed pointless. A pity it didn’t work out, there were nine boats in there, most of whom left the same day as Calypso. Why? Well the GRIB files were showing 20-30kts for a couple more days, which was not forecast when I left! Needless to say, on this occasion the GRIB files were correct. I had contact on VHF and Paul told me that after a couple of days the wind was going to fade away. Hah!

I cornered a groggy roach (the roach motels do work but they take time. I only see the occasional one).

“Give me Studgeron or give me death.” It muttered.

I thought about it.

THWACK

“Buy your own bloody Studgeron.” I said
