Started to prepare Trouters for the lift-out on Monday. In the course of removing both headsails I discover two additions to The List, two new halyards!
Oh well, better to find out now rather than mid-Pacific. Actually, it would only appear to be the outer-sleeving that has chafed in both cases, but better to replace both and have a rigger cure the run (if possible). The list in full:

  • Repair or replace Gennaker & Gib Halyards

  • Install second spinnaker halyard

  • Second whisker pole + fittings/lines for both poles

  • Rigging condition check/tighten

  • Sails launder/repair

  • Check delaminatioon on cabin roof

  • Improve sheet lead to aft winches

  • KISS wind generator/ adapt present pole

  • Outboard hoist/possible strengthen davits

  • Repair dingy

  • Bleed hydraulic steering

  • Fiddle rails all round hob

  • Install fridge in present cool box (Naut-I-Kol 'stone cold' system)

  • Possible new design cockpit table

  • Sunshade for cockpit

  • Repair DVD player

In addition I will get the ships batteries checked and might replace them with golf-cart batteries (and increase the capacity, presently 440A/H).
Of course, the hulls need to be scraped-off and new anti-fouling put on (with added tin!). I'm hoping that nothing else comes to light!
I would have liked to replace the present dingy with an AB aluminium RIB/larger outboard, but I don't think the budget will run to it.
Peakes (the haul-out yard) seem to be pretty switched on and most businesses here are geared up for yotties. I do detect a willingness to 'do a deal' though, which seems to indicate a bit of a down-turn in business. There are numerous reasonably priced bars/cafes around the Chagaramas area and apparently the shopping in Port of Spain is quite cheap (which bodes well for taking a couple of pressies back to Blighty).
