                | Still stuck behind Isla de Pinos waiting for the
proverbial 'weather window', beginning to sound like the American yotties out
here! A German boat had a go at leaving first thing this morning; they went out
round the SW corner of the island, dodged the white water, then turned behind
the Island to proceed in a Northerly direction. 'Fast forward' two hours. A
German boat appears round the SW corner of the island, dodges the white water
and re-anchors in the bay, making 'it's like a washing machine out there'
gestures. we have moved about 200 metres further along the
bay, to get out of the swell that was hooking around the SW corner and making
life a little uncomfortable. The Canadians on Kilkea have also moved; we were a
ittle uncomfortable but they had to put the lee boards in the bed after being
pitched out onto the floor. Well, that was their story, maybe they were up to
something frightfully energetic! We had a 'curry night' last night. I unearthed some
Patek's curry paste from the bowels of one of the food lockers, so a jolly good,
spicey time was had by all. Tonight, the plan is to eat ashore. The 'official'
guide here is a young man called David, who speaks excellent English. He worked
in panama City for a couple of years, but actually makes more money on the
island because he lives in the family house (with his wife and two children [+
one on the way]) and grows his own food. he operates a sort of restaurant when
enough boats are in the anchorage, so for US$5 per head it's worth a try. I just
hope we don't get tinned sardines again! Hope to be on the move again on Sunday. The wind
isn't so much of a problem, it's the 12ft swell that's causing us to stay. It's
coming from the north and we want to go....yes, you've guessed it
