Noon position 17/01. Daily run 137.2nm 310 nm to go to Barbados.
A peaceful night last night, just the odd light shower but no squalls, electrical storms or kamikaze flying fish. Got the gennaker out this morning as everybody is feeling reasonably well rested, just watching the furling gear gradually chomp its way through another part of the furling line. For any BB owners reading this, the lead on the gennaker furling line is rubbish, it keeps fouling on the vertical spines on the furling drum, which I think are there to prevent a riding turn. As they don't do this very well, the proposal is to cut off the vertical spine which is doing all the damage (once we are in Barbados), file it s.mooth and apply hammerite. Any comments from anybody?
All going well, warm with mainly blue skies and a reasonable forecast for the rest of the trip. Spoke to Moonshiner at 1900 UTC last night, they had 190nm to go and all was well. They could be in early Sunday morning and with a little luck we should be in Monday late afternoon local time, which is four hours behind UK time.
