Yet more excitement on the river

Does it never end?
Last weekend the weather and the river finally calmed down a bit so I moved back to my old spot. Yesterday I went to the Gold Coast to take a look at some anchorages. I was given a lift by my new chum Dave. The plan was to help him fix a girlfriend's washing machine then take the scenic coastal route back to Brisbane.
After identifying and ordering the relevant bit of the w/machine my phone rang. It was Michel from Viatrix, my next door neighbour. A small unattended Wharram anchored upstream had broken loose and clobbered Trouters.

We left the Gold Coast at a rate of knots but after about 30 mins Michel rang again. Panic over, the boat had drifted off Trouters. When I got back the boat had anchored itself very close to the pile moorings, having apparently bounced off Jack's boat (another neighbour) in passing. A barge arrived and moved the offending Wharram a lot further upstream. Nobody has any contact details for the owner so I don't know if he's been told. Cosmetic damage to Trouters on both hulls so if nothing else an apology would be nice. An offer of payment/repair to the damage would be too much to hope for I think. Luckily we're looking at scratches and a chunk or two of gelcoat off the stern rather than anything major.

Off to Immigration tomorrow to find out about renewing my visa. I suppose that'll be the next drama. It's not dull here, I tell you!
