Calypso have arrived. An emotional reunion in the marina office. They likewise had a very torrid time of it and seriously thought that they had seen the last of me. Paul said he didn't think that I would have survived the storm. The last wind-speed they saw was 47kts then they were blinded by water coming into the cockpit. Read their account http://calypsosjournal.blogspot.com/

It seems like my broken cable may be a connection problem at the throttle quadrant rather than a broken cable. To be certain 'a mechanic' will be fixing it at 4pm today. The marina spoke to him and he guaranteed that he would be finished by 5pm. They (the marina) have left me in the berth for one more night (I pay of course) but early(ish) tomorrow morning when the winds are lighter I'll move out to the anchorage.

I treated myself to a baguette. That'll be about the last one then at £3.40 a go. Likewise the beers that I just shared with Calypso at the marina bistro. Just over £9 for two small beers and a small glass of wine. Sheesh. The French do have a certain style and flair, but it comes at a price!

Not sure what Internet will be like after tomorrow, so expect sporadic postings. I don't think I'll be getting a SIM card for the phone nor will I be buying a dongle for the computer. The plan remains a couple of weeks here then on to Ozworld.
