The day started well, it did. It wasn't raining, the confuser battery had charged up (I told you about that) and apart from the gas having run out and the electric kettle (which failed two weeks ago) not being fixed or replaced so a glass of water for brekkie, all was well. Then there was an email from Raymarine. My contact there is in fact still alive and 'trying to source your spares'. Spares ordered between Christmas and New year.I decided to wear the super-expensive Nike made in China sandals as the old feet have healed up nicely and if it rained there is no grip left on the Korean racing slicks.Orft I jolly well went.

It rained. Good choice of footwear Murray, but wait.....the s-e N m i C hurt like hell after ten minutes, then a strap broke. Second time since I brought them, so not only are they expensive, but also uncomfortable and crap. Right, so limping ever onwards I arrived at the yacht club. Because I like to finish on good news the bad news is.....
Neither sight nor sound of Arun the Elektric for ten days (it may be a coincidence, but I've been away for, oh, it must be about ten days...hmmm)
Martin The Meknic has been around but vague. I cornered him, difficult he's a big lad but if you imply that you might buy him a beer, you get his attention. The look of horror when he realizes that having listened to you THERE IS NO BEER, is also quite gratifying. Engines ready by the end of the month, honest Chief......oh they will be, believe me.

The good news to finish.....well, not all good but not really bad:
The rudder posts arrived complete...keyway fitted, framework for the rudder blades welded to the shafts....Yippeee! Well, yes, but of course this means that plan A, to drop the shafts in from the top because there wasn't enough ground clearance to feed them up from underneath is out. Plan B is fit them either once the crane has lifted the boat, or when the boat is in the cradle and in the water. John the GRP assures me he can hold his breath for several minutes. He is also making up the rudder blades as we speak.

So, I went to the Hop Hing for lunch. They were pleased to see me, but not so pleased that they brought me lunch, traditional people the Chinese. I recharged the IPad, then got a taxi up to 'Cost you A little less but you have to check the prices to make sure'. I bought an electric kettle and some folders for my growing number of sweat-stained notes for Book Three. I also went to my very favourite Korean shoe factory outlet and brough a very stylish (and comfortable) pair of slipons......made in Thailand!

Returning to the house, the cat took the opportunity to remind me that I had forgotten to buy him any cat food, so back down to the not so super market. At the checkout,  I found that for some extraordinary reason I seemed to have brought four bottles of beer as well, I can't imagine how that happened!
