Sustained 25-30kt winds last night, 3-4 metre seas
and rain squalls. Could have been worse I suppose, other boats within 40nm of us
were getting sustained 40 kts and 5 metre seas! My water-towed electricity
generator is no more, or at least the fail-safe link between ther generator and
the towed impellor is no more. It failed safe and I'm now minus the impellor and
40 metres of line, probably still slowly sinking into the depths as I type. The
bimini is slowly being torn to pieces so that's a couple of days concentrated
sewing when we arrive in Fiji; apart frrom that all is well!
Nearly in the Tropics, slowly getting warmer.
Another tedious night ahead I fear but with a bit of luck we might be arriving
in Savu Savu on the 24th.
