1200 position on 25/08, 204 nm to go to Porto Santo.
All well, sea state has settled down a bit, so life is more comfortable. We've had contact with Moonshiner, who is about 20-odd miles away, seems like we'll be arriving about the same time, although at the moment any ETA is very provisional!. Just starting to get into a routine, we're experimenting with 3 hour night watches, although it makes a change for me to have crew on a long trip!
We've also had an 'equipment naming session'. Most of the boat is named after things in the BBC radio program, 'The Navy Lark', so the radar is called Goldstein (starboard look-out), the GPS is Mr Phillips (navigating officer) & the auto-helm is Pertwee. I have an Aquair 100 generator, the one that can be converted from wind mode to towed mode. In wind-mode it is now referred to as 'Prescott' (due to a combination of wind & noise) and in water mode 'Monica' (after Lewinski, who worked well when 'going down').
That's it for now, still thinking we'll arrive late tomorrow night, but thinghs can and do change.
Toodlepip from Troutbridge & crew.
