We had a close encounter with ex-tropical cyclone Wilma the last couple of
days, but tucked up in Whangerei basin we didn't get any more than about
20kts of wind. As we'd been in anchored in the basin for about 14 days, we
were supposed to 'vacate the location', so we're now down here in a apot
recommended by Dennis, now christened 'Den's Nook. Naturally it's open to
the West and the wind is coming from.....(answers on a postcard, but no
prizes for guessing) so it's a little choppy, however the wind drops off
at night, the holding (fingers crossed) is gloopy mud so we'll hang on for
a bit. The idea was to find an anchorage to let 'Sammie the Seal' do some
swimming, which is a non-starter right now, so naturally we 'should have
discussed this in more detail' before leaving this morning. Apparently
there was more shopping to be done in Whangerei. Hey Ho,it's all coming
back to me now, it is all my fault :(
More promisingly, :)
I'm now in contact with an illustrator for the childrens stories I wrote
and he seems quite interested.
