W3 is now on her way to Whangerei to catch the bus for Auckland, Liz and
Mike (Aurora B) won a 2 day hire car in the All Points Rally prize draw so
they're giving her a lift as they were going down there today for a look
around, and she'll get the bus to Auckland (or should that be 'Orc-land?)
from there.
We had a nice 'pot luck' farewell dinner on board Trouters last night, Liz
& Mike + Marion and David (Kilkea 2) in attendance. The weather wasn't
great and everybody got a bit wet coming out to the anchorage, but in the
end a good time was had by all. I hope W3 enjoyed her time (eight months +
a bit) on board and enjoys the next part of her 'Pacific Adventure', three
weeks in Brisbane/Sydney before flying back to France for Crimbo with 'The
mother'.
I've arranged to have the rigging done on the 6th of Dec, so should be
able to shift anchorages after that. There's a lot to see in the Bay of
Islands and I'm looking forward to showing visitors from the UK coming out
in Feb around the place. In the meantime there's 'just a few' boat jobs to
do and a book to finish.
