The gangs all here (well, apart from those racing ahead to transit the Canal with the Blue Water Rally)
Delicado, Kilkea, Merlin and a boat from the beginning of the trip, Mary Madeleine (Danielle & Greg from Canada). I met them in St Lucia at the beginning of Feb last year. A bit of a get-together tonight, I feel.
Weather continues overcast with scattered light showers. I can just feel the sympathy oozing over me via the satellite link :)
A rough plan seems to be forming: About a week more in the San Blas then a three day easy hop to Shelter Bay marina. Repair the furling foil, deal with some private business and try and locate suitable crew for the Pacific. Maybe on to the Bocas del Torro area or maybe through the Canal and 'lurk locally' on the Pacific side before heading off to Galapagos. I don't really want to leave for the Galapagos much before the third week in March, which all being well should put me in the Marquesas around mid-late April. Pretty much spot on, bearing in mind this is an El Nino year, so the trades will be later in establishing and the Cyclones will be later in ending (and will come further East in the Pacific). In the meantime, it's beer O clock minus twenty five minutes and counting, time for a spruce up and dig out the old party frock!
