Now, don't get too excited, this is more a case of one step forward.
First the starter motor..... it has been stripped, it can be repaired,
unfortunately for it to be repaired 'de repair' man needs to turn up for
work. By 1010 this morning he had not turned up for work, so I'll try
again tomorrow morning.
The rest is better news. The fridge has started working again. The
'sooper-dupa' digital temperature control box is suspect, but some
connections have been remade and things are generally chilling down. I'll
contact the fridge people in Trini and see if I can get a new control box
(yeah, right!) but I now know how to 'hot wire' the thing.
The heat exchange head is back in place with the manufacturing defect made
good, so hopefully no more leaks (can't fully check until we start the
engine).
Subject to any last minute changes/hitches I have crew flying out from the
UK next Thu. Simon seems a very pleasant chap, used to traveling the world
and will be staying on board at least until Panama, maybe for the trip to
NZ if he enjoys himself.
I've also had other replies from Crewfinders which may or may not lead
somewhere.
So, progress.
