A night out from Chagauramas, that is. Went over to Chacachacare for the full moonm party. In the event, only two boats went and when the time came to go ashore, I watched the other dingy smash itself against a concrete jetty. There was a fair old swell running, so I chickened out, went back to Trouters and had my BBQ on board. A very pleasant, peaceful night.
The water was clean, so I went for a swim. Uh Oh, BARNACLES!!!!!!!!!! All along the bottom of both fins. I think Peakes didn't do a 'proper job', so Monday morning I expect I'll have a raging argument about this with them. They WILL haul the boat at their expense and do the job they were paid for. This will delay the departure to Tobago somewhat, but too bad.
The final bit of excitement was getting the anchor up to leave. The Rocna lived up to its name and had wrapped the chain around a large lump of coral. The windlass raised the coral to the surface where in an attempt to rotate the rock to free the chain wrap the boat hook destroyed itself. Ah, the joys of 'yottin'.
Oh yes, a couple of adjustments to be made to the mainsail (outhaul clutch frozen open and would not jam the outhaul), but apart from that a successful post maintenance mini-cruise.
