Woke up this morning (about 0300)
Not feelin' so fine (de boat was moving aroun mon!)
By 0700, the cat anchored inside me was in the surf line (the owner had spent the night ashore) and leaping around the place, so I thought it was time to leave!
By 0730 we had motored out of the anchorage into a fairly heavy swell and investigated an anchorage about 1nm north of St Pierre, but it was very steep-to, which would have meant anchoring perilously close to a potential surf-line again. No way Jose, we turned south and are now in a place valled 'Les Trois Islets', in the Rade de Fort de France. Unsurprisingly, there are quite a few boats here, including a large ketch that passed us northbound first thing this morning, then passed us again southbound as they thought better of the trip to Dominica!
I went for a bit of a hike up into the hills above St Pierre yesterday, which was hard work but pleasant. Suprisingly, de neez am OK dis mornin!
The plan now? Well, we have strong northerly winds, even tucked away behind the hill and the swell was showing no signs of abating. Here for a couple of days I guess, then St Pierre to clear out then Dominica :)
Still, musn't complain, eh. The sun is shining and it's quite hot, in a windy sort of way.
