Sunday 11th September – Messolonghi (BBQ)

Still working our way through the washing in between jobs…  yes, we were down to our last few clothes.

Jobs today were to vacuum and dust the cabins, saloon and bilges to remove the remaining bits of beach that we picked up in Néa Klima and have been finding here and there ever since.

We have emptied any remaining food supplies from the bilges so we can use them up, the soap mountain (though much depleted) is probably still good for a few years.

We started polishing the woodwork but there is a lot and I gave up this afternoon as it got too hot – the vacuum cleaner had pumped out too much hot air and there isn’t enough breeze to disperse it.  Still everything is looking much better now.  We have even washed the floor mats and put them out on the washing line.

Late afternoon, Electric Monk called us to say we had a turtle swimming across the stern of the boats on the wall where we are in the marina.  He must like the taste of diesel - there was a small German boat here yesterday who managed to spread diesel everywhere before being hoisted onto the hard.

This evening we were able to catch up with Richard’s mum, Gill and Mark and my parents by Skype.  We then went for the weekly barbecue over by Aqua Domus.  Russell brought out his guitar and played a few songs.  Late evening we retired aboard Blue Elephant for a nightcap before returning to Pyxis.
