Friday 22nd August – Porto Petro, Mallorca

Today we had fair weather and it looked good to move on to Menorca but the forecast for the weekend in Menorca was showing strong wind and the possibility of showers and thunderstorms which we don’t fancy as a welcome, particularly at anchor in a bay.  So, we decided to stay put.

This afternoon we went into Porto Petro and had a walk round; on our first visit we had walked around the marina side so we decided to walk the other way.  The place is really quite small and it took a very short time to walk to the ‘You are now leaving Porto Petro’ sign on the main road.

We had a quick survey of the two small supermarkets and then wandered back to the harbour and into a bar for a sun-downer.

As we were getting into the dinghy, a guy asked if we could ferry his friend ashore from a very small yacht that had just arrived and moored in the bay a short way from the harbour.  We did our ‘Good Samaritan’ bit and then came back to Pyxis – didn’t think to ask how he was getting back to his boat!

This evening it was a lovely sunset view from on board.
