A better day and so we went out to one of the large supermarkets this afternoon for stroll round the Sales.

On the way back we got off at our usual bus stop by the Fiera and wondered why we were having to make our way through so much police presence – there were police and troops everywhere, and the car park was overflowing.

When we reached the Fiera, Richard sent me in to see what was happening whilst he stood outside with the trolley full of shopping.

No-one stopped me and when I was inside I found a camera-man who spoke English to ask what was happening.  It was Berlusconi, the Italian Prime Minister, giving a speech in one of the large halls.  I could here him speaking from outside and it seemed to be going down well as I could hear cheers and clapping.  Obviously my Italian wasn’t up to it so I left again, fortunately without any one of the many police feeling like putting a wrinkle in their Armani suits by asking what I thought I was doing there – they did look smart though!

This evening we had another ‘24’ session with Stephen and Anne.
