Sunday 9th March – Alcoutim

37:28.247N 7:28.235W

We awoke to increasing cloud and a cool wind so we didn’t venture far this morning.

I cooked Sunday lunch, which doesn’t happen that often over here.  Richard had roast chicken and I had fish, with roast potatoes, stuffing etc – it’s surprising what can be done on a tiny stove and oven.  By lunchtime the sun was out and we ate up in the cockpit enclosure watching the world go by on the strong spring tide!

This afternoon we went for a walk to the dam on the Portuguese side of the river which feeds the tributary to the river just above Alcoutim – it turned out to be a fair walk, mostly uphill.  Along the way were almond trees lining the road and so we came back with a couple of pockets of almonds which I shared with the neighbouring yacht.

This evening we have had a quiet night onboard.
