A productive day.

This morning we had a tranquil breakfast at anchor with fabulous view out across the Mar Menor; it has been a beautiful day, high temperatures, a little cloud, with a sea breeze cooling us off during the afternoon.

After breakfast, I showered and set about some jobs around the boat.  It has been some time since we have arrived somewhere and not immediately shot off to ‘do the sights’, so today was a nice change.

Last night I woke at 4.30am thinking that I could hear a mossie whining.  No mossie surfaced but it brought the mossie nets to the top of my list.  So, today, I found out about needles; one end is sharp and the other end you stuff cotton in and sew up your mossie net trying not to get blood everywhere!

My prototype is now installed and will be tested tonight with an open hatch – obviously this doesn’t allow for the resident mossies but I’m going to attack then with a citronella candle this evening.  A report and the number of bites will be issued tomorrow.

Richard has had a day catching up on admin, planning and photos.  This evening he also set to and fixed the thermostat on the oven – this has been a problem since Lagos so I’m happy it’s reached the top if the list at last.  As Richard said, I have a microwave now so it was not the top priority until doing long passages.
