Today we did a bit of tidying up and rigged up the new electric lights to the saloon rails with cable ties so that we can try them before getting the drill out.

In the evening Stephen and Anne came round to visit; we had a fondue that had to be rather inventive as our fondue kit is in UK (as was the recipe book) and I baked a cake, a pineapple upside down cake, that became quite a challenge when the gas oven decided to stop working just as I put the cake in – I had to stand with my finger on the oven button until the cake was cooked.

Still it looked OK and our guests were polite enough to have a second slice!

Afterwards we had the unexpected game of scrabble that my Mum had tipped us off about when I had called her earlier (Stephen and Anne had mentioned in their blog that they were studying hard for tonight’s re-match).  The girls were neck and neck at the end and very well ahead of the boys!

Following the game, we showed them our new speaker system and ended up watching a DVD for the rest of the evening; we were a bit late going to bed so the blog is a little late once again.
