Friday 10th August – Camaret sur Mer

Today we have had a quiet day in Camaret – some rest after our passage, some cleaning on board and some re-provisioning at the local supermarket - the trolley has seen action again.  For anyone coming over here, the supermarkets have ‘gone green’ and you don’t get plastic bags, so need to bring your own or buy re-usable ones.

We like Camaret, small and peaceful and the marina is not too busy so we can recommend it as a stop-over.  The sun has been out and the weather is great – just like being on holiday.   This is the first day I have left the yacht for days without taking my cagoule.

Tonight we enjoyed our usual Cherbourg fare – demi-kilo of prawns (the French don’t do small prawns so these were the large variety) with a baguette and lots of red wine.  Richard got a rest from mackerel (which will probably not be on the menu now we’ve left UK).
