Friday 30^th July – Messolonghi (The Galley and a new TV celebrity)

This morning Victoria took me to Lidl by car and I bought a few provisions from what they had left on the shelves.  There doesn’t appear to be panic buying going on here, despite the strike, and, although the shelves are looking quite empty, there are still provisions to be had – for the moment.

This afternoon we set to on the galley and gave it a clean – Richard started off but then went to help out by sorting the lines on some neighbouring boats as they needed resetting to straighten the boats up after they had been shuffled along the wall a bit; he was helped by Dave from the boat next door.  I carried on in the galley and when they had finished I distributed beers. 

Yiannes then came over to ask if we would be interviewed about Messolonghi.  I said yes, for some reason believing it was for a radio programme but a TV camera crew turned up.  They interviewed quite a number of people so I’m not certain my clip will be used – I’m hoping it is only for local TV, rather than national; after an afternoon scrubbing the galley, I wasn’t exactly looking my best!
