Today was a race to see if the electricians could get the electricity installed ready for the weekend.  At first it looked unlikely but then, following considerable pressure from Yannis, there was a remarkable rally with them managing to wire in the cable tails to most of the cabinets by mid-afternoon.  However, Yannis’ best efforts were then sadly thwarted as the electricians needed the electricity board to come back on site to do a final connection to the new mains supply and the electricity board were minded that they were not coming out on a Friday afternoon.  The electricians tried a temporary fix by teeing into one of the existing supplies on the site but unfortunately the voltage is insufficient so it looks like it will be next week before the shore power arrives.

This evening, with the lack of electricity, Yannis got the workmen to lend me their generator for an hour so I could do some vacuuming on the boat as we managed to break our generator on a previous visit here and still need to get it repaired.  Pyxis is now finally looking clean again inside and out.

This evening David and Sarah came over for a drink and a chat – it was a late night.  As we sat up in the cockpit enclosure the clouds closed in and by the end of the evening the wind and rain had arrived and in the distance we could see some quite spectacular thunderstorms going on out in the Gulf.
