Friday 4th July – Porto Cristo, Mallorca – Cala Molta, Mallorca

39:43.681N 3:27.262E

We spent the morning unpacking, stowing and preparing Pyxis for passage.

Just before 14.00 we slipped our mooring and managed to squeeze out between the pontoons into the channel; the pontoons are very tightly spaced so the judicious use of a rope from the bow to the stern of Moonshadow was essential to spin us round, particularly as the breeze was keen to carry us on down on to the boats opposite.

We set sail and headed north towards Cala Ratjada; the wind swung round to the south at F3/4 but the swell remained from the NE and was quite high at times off the capes.

As we approached Cala Ratjada we started to check out some of the calas for shelter from the swell and wind.  We carried on around the headland to this beautiful anchorage in Cala Molta where we have found shelter from the heavy swell.

Tonight, it is quiet and peaceful in the bay and the sky is full of stars, it’s great to be back.
