Thursday 11th October – Lagos

Another beautiful hot and sunny day – 30C by 10.30am.

This morning, we finally met the couple aboard Nocturne, a yacht we have seen (albeit briefly) at our ports of call all the way around Biscay and down the coast of Portugal.  A lovely couple with a great deal of experience in off shore sailing, including a helicopter rescue off the coast of Finisterre when they had problems with their previous boat.

This afternoon we blew up the dinghy and went out for a look along the headland approaching Lagos where there are some very impressive rock formations.  There are a number of small caves carved into the rock and some remote beaches.  Some of the beaches have steps leading down to them and seem to be linked to hotels, but others look so remote that they can only be reached using a dinghy.

Trolley has had a busy day – late this afternoon we went to two supermarkets further afield to re-provision.
