Friday 28th March – Rota (Flamenco)

It was a quiet day on Pyxis.  I read my book and Richard sorted out admin and photos on the computer.

In the afternoon Richard went to the library to catch up on internet, and then took trolley on a hike to the supermarket to stock up on some bulk items.

Tonight we went to a local Flamenco evening. It was held in a small hall, dedicated to flamenco with a small bar serving tapas and drinks. By the time the show started the hall was packed, all Spanish except us – it felt a little like a local club with everyone knowing each other; nevertheless, we were made welcome and we have had another late night.

The evening was very interesting – this was authentic Flamenco rather than a tourist show. The introductions and the subject of the songs were lost on us; our Spanish isn’t up to it yet.  However, we enjoyed the music and the dancing very much – though the singing was dramatic and very loud.

It was after midnight by the time it finished. However, this time it was a bit easier to get back to the marina, it being just a short walk away.
