Thursday 29th November – Port Velcro

Today we went for a drive to Portimão with Stephen and Anne in their hire car; we went via all the out of town stores and supermarkets where Richard failed to find the correct adaptor for our sub woofer.  Richard will now get the soldering iron out and do it himself.

We then dragged them, kicking and screaming, to the beach and marina at Portimão to do a bit of sight-seeing but they were in the groove for shopping and there were more supermarkets to visit on the way home…

This evening, Gavin and Cath from Blue Elephant invited us round for pre-dinner drinks; we had a lovely time and also we met some couples who we had not met before – one couple have been here 6 years – this place really does earn its name – Port Velcro!  During the drinks we were asked why we had not yet left for the Canaries – methinks it will be nothing short of a miracle if we do leave.

On our way back to Pyxis to have dinner, we bumped into Peter and Carola on their way to the bar.  We agreed to have a swift one with them before going home.  Anyway, you’ve guessed it, we got home at 2am and no dinner!
