Monday 15th December – Cagliari

The weather was pretty awful again today but we braved the elements and went out to one of the large supermarkets to stock up.  Trolley MkII is working well – unfortunately the supermarket trolley was bigger and so we ended up filling the rucksack and having to carry some bulky items as well, including a large poinsettia!

The change of bus in town on the way back didn’t go as well as it could have. On a good day you get off the bus going into town, cross the bus lane, and hop onto the bus out to the marina.  Today as we got off the first bus it started drizzling and then raining on and off. For some reason there was every bus going past but the one we wanted.  The passing car traffic was doing its best to spray everybody standing waiting for a bus with dirty water.  Eventually a bus arrived but by the time we got back to the boat we were cold and wet and it was dark.

As we trudged back along the pontoon we got a text from Wandering Dragon asking if we were on board Pyxis – ‘no’ we shouted as we reached their transom.

Once back on Pyxis we finished putting up the Christmas decorations whilst preparing dinner.  The boat is now looking quite festive inside.  Later we popped along to Wandering Dragon for a game of Scrabble – sadly Anne has spent her time in England studying the dictionary and won rather convincingly.
