Fabulous sunshine all day and sheltered in the marina with a reported F7 offshore.

I wanted to start tonight’s blog by saying that we’d been thrown out of the yacht club but, as Richard pointed out, we didn’t actually make it in.  We had decided to go to the yacht club for lunch rather than dinner today and treat ourselves to lunch plus wi-fi and upload another load of pictures.  Unfortunately we stopped and asked the secretary for a password to the wi-fi and were informed that, as we were not berthed at their marina, we were not able to partake of the facilities.  So, no lunch and no wi-fi.  Please be advised, visiting yachtsmen, you are not welcome unless you choose to berth at the yacht club rather than the new marina a few minutes away.  Perhaps that’s the problem they have – though why they should refuse to accept a visiting yachtman’s money is beyond my business acumen, since there was no one else around.

Anyway, on the way to the yacht club, we had a pleasant walk through the old town of Baiona – narrow streets, stone buildings and lots of small bars.  At the town hall we found a small art exhibition with some surreal paintings. On the way back we had a very pleasant walk up around the Parador which had some fantastic views out to sea and the nearby islands.

When we got back to Pyxis, we saw a British yacht that we had met in La Coruna arriving.  We went to say ‘hello’ and then returned to our boat.  Next thing, we had a rap on the hull and an invitation to G&T onboard.  A great couple who are on vacation with their two children, home schooling; we had a great time and only just had time to get to the supermarket before our evening soiree on our neighbours boat.

We have had a fantastic evening with them and their friends and another couple from a neighbouring Swiss boat. I wish our German was better than it is – though their English was too good for us to get much practice !

So, sorry our blog is a bit late as we had quite a day !  Probably too hung over tomorrow to go anywhere.
